Established in 1996, C S P - Community Sustained Programming is a community-based behavior management day program serving adults with developmental disabilities in Santa Rosa, California.

As a facility-free program, all our activities take place in the community. We provide a curriculum of community integration and self-advocacy, an enriched activity schedule, myriad opportunities for self-empowerment and a strong values-based approach to human interactions.

The purpose of CSP is to provide a facility-free, person-centered / client driven behavioral management day program that provides supervision, training and supports for adults with developmental disabilities who reside in Sonoma County.

CSP provides individuals with opportunities and supports that they need that optimize each participant’s personal initiative, autonomy and independence, without regimentation, so that they can participate in community life as they choose.

CSP clients are deeply involved in choices that provide the supports they need to access the community, engage in social and community interactions in a positive manner.

CSP helps create familiarity and belonging by frequenting community sites and interacting with community members

Community-integrated programming has a unique potential to be fun and rewarding while promoting growth and expanding peoples’ lives

CSP STAFF

We hire staff who truly enjoy working with this population and who enjoy working on their own out in the community. We select staff who posses a naturally caring attitude and an innate ability to apply common sense to the many socially dynamic situations that arise.

Our staff are constantly being trained in many areas, whether by weekly staff meetings, safety trainings, memos, one-on-one trainings, shadowing and feedback, behavioral concepts or documentation trainings. CSP is a unique, real-time learning organization, offering opportunities for problem solving, insight, feedback, direction, on-the-spot training and emotional support.

In addition to teaching to the social and technical skills necessary for accessing the community in a positive way, our staff provide companionship and guidance. They build trust with our clients by honoring their choices, values and preferences and by compassionately seeing them through their tough times as well as celebrating their successes. By creating a high-quality environment, our staff help each individual experience the simple gift of having a good day, of getting along with others and of feeling good about themselves.
